Instead of new years resolutions and goals, last year, I chose one word to focus on. Simplicity.
2013 is a Big Year!
With that in mind the word I’ve chosen for this year is:
HOPE.
Hope that we’ll all be together soon, a family of four.

… then five.
We have a big appointment coming up for Noah, which gives me hope!
We also move again this summer. We thought we knew, now we don’t.
What an amazing year 2013 is going to be, filled to the brim. I have decided to take hope and when I start to get discouraged I remind myself to be grateful for the small things, not sweat the big ones remembering the wonderful life I have been given. This past year, so many things that have happened that I didn’t expect, even in the past two weeks. Even with the unexpected (good and bad) I take hope.

You are an inspiration to many. I am past child rearing age but know that you will make little Laney’s life full of wonder and opportunity, along with your Noah and Cami. We all get discouraged but you have so much faith, drive, and love that I know you will be fine. If I lived near you I would give you a hug.

Love your word of the year! I should make it mine too. I also love that poem by Emily Dickenson. Before we made butterfly terrariums, my sisters, mom, and I made jewelry, and I made a resin design that said, “hope is the thing with feathers.” If I can find one I’ll send it to you in honor of this big year for you. Hoping we are both bringing our little ones home very, very soon.
