Until holding sweet little Lainey in our own arms, we are sending little bits of us to her. It isn’t cheap to mail stuff to the Congo (mailing our dossier it cost me $100). Needless to say I am very grateful for another DRC mama taking a little package of ours with her as she goes to pick up her little one.
Included in our package is a little gift Cami’s been working on.
With the tiniest bit of my help with the eyes, Cami has spent several evenings during chapters of Ramona
She did mostly a blanket stitch all around the back and a running stitch on the wings. She’s getting pretty awesome at the blanket stitch. After her tooth pillow, it has been her stitch of choice. 
Her big request was to sew a little note to her sister on it. What a treasure that I hope to keep for years to come. 
A couple little outfits I couldn’t resist, the owl and a family board book that basically states our names over and over, so we are hopefully a familiar face when we arrive to bring her home.
If you can’t tell, our excitement is building (along with my impatience)!

ohmygosh! It’s getting so…REAL! that owl is so precious, and Cami is just about the sweetest kid ever. I’m impressed with her sewing! The family board book looks amazing, too. Imagine getting a book like that, with your gorgeous photos, and learning that is your new family?! I know she’s too young to understand that, but the concept is so heartwarming. So special.
