As I mentioned, so much has been going on lately. Right after Chris left my main push was the Neptune Festival. So much work went into preparing for that, I spent many days and nights getting ready and making sure I had plenty of products to offer.

With Chris gone, my awesome sister came and watched the kids all.weekend.long. It as a three day event, so she was committed. My mom came down to help again, and I definitely need it. This was a lot bigger than the last craft fair I did. A lot bigger, meant a lot more sales, and also a lot more work. One bummer of the weekend was the longest day (Saturday) was rainy and cold. We still had a good amount of traffic, but not the same as we would have had if it was warm and sunny. The next day was sunny, shoppers were out and we were busy.

Its been over a week since the festival and I’ve had time to reflect through it all. It definitely was a successful weekend, but exhausting. My friend Amy, has my extreme admiration. She does this frequently, and has been very helpful answering emails I have regarding it all. I think what I took away, besides gratitude for my amazing and helpful family, is that I won’t be doing this for again for a long time… especially when Chris isn’t around.
That being said. I’m grateful to have some extra cash for our adoption, a bunch of already printed stuff ready for autumn sales (etsy shop being filled this week), the experience, and some quality time with my mom was just really nice. We don’t get it a ton, so when we do I’m really thankful for it.
That’s the latest on Dandelion Dream. One thing that my mom mentioned and I wished I had done was put an email sign up list on a clipboard at the festival. Its good way to let new customers (people interested) know new stuff that was going on. If you’d like to be included on my shop’s email distro list, please fill the dandelion dream subscribe form on the right side of this bar. More is happening with this little shop, and I’ll be sharing at the end of this month. For now I’m filling custom orders and restocking online.

Shows are so so exhausting and I can’t imagine doing it while my husband is away. Big deal!!! That being said, I do really LOVE going out there and introducing people to my work in-person. So fun to see their reactions, hear their stories, and, ultimately, decide on something to bring home to be apart of their own lives. That’s something you don’t get from online sales.
I think I may be a bit crazy. I have four, FOUR!!!, shows between the first weekend of November and Christmas. Not to mention two places that are stocking my stuff for holiday pop-up shops. It’s crazy, but hopefully wonderful as well! Good luck with the directions you take your biz. I’m looking forward to hearing more!

I am so glad you and Amy are connected online. I feel special to know such talented friends, even if only because of the internet and blogs! You should be proud of yourself, Erin. You accomplish so much. It is truly admirable!

Awesome. Your tent and setup look great! I hear you — about the energy these show require, and when child care becomes part of the equation (I don’t usually have to deal with that), it adds so much more stress. I know we’ve discussed this already but I have a love/hate relationship with these shows. This, as I enter my busiest show-every-weekend-for-a-month-and-a-half season. Sigh. But like you, I am grateful for the opportunity these shows provide ($$, connecting with customers, etc..)
Hurrah for extra adoption cash, and your beefed-up inventory for the holidays, too!
