This weekend, in celebration of the autumn season, Cami worked on some adorable little owls. We used bits that we had around the house, to include the following:
• 4 Toilet Paper rolls
• Glue and a glue gun
• Acrylic paints
• Felt and buttons
To start I went ahead and bent the top of the rolls inward to form the owl’s head. I also cut two of the rolls a little smaller to create more of a “family” of owls. Using the glue gun, I hot glued the fold on top for their little heads.

Cami then went to town painting any style and color she wanted. After she did, we just let them dry overnight.

I cut out wings and found some buttons in the craft room. Cami glued those onto her owls and once they dried she finished by drawing their noses, eyebrows and bellies.

It was such an easy craft, so much fun for her to do whatever she like, and what fun it was for her to add all that color to our autumn nature stand.

I love how you have an autumn stand. Do you use it for each of the seasons? I think I may need to try something like that here. We just pile all our findings outside on the porch.

Erin, I love those! Adorable! And again. I am always so impressed that you are willing to make the time and get messy with your kids (or let them get messy!!).

Hooray for people like you. I am not crafty and don’t like the mess, but when you fantastically talented people can help us unartsy folk come up with a really easy craft to do with out kids, we love it! Abram and I were all over this one. After all, with 4 kids we have more than enough TP rolls to paint! Thanks a bunch!

Those are so cute! I’ve seen that craft idea before and have wondered if my daughter would be able to do it. Your post tells me that I should just do it with her! It’s so nice to be able to use things that just sitting around.

These are so cute! Thanks for the great idea.
Did you make the photos un-pinnable on purpose? Just curious because I was hoping to pin this project to save the idea for later!

Thanks for letting me know Nicole, I changed a couple settings on my flickr account and didn’t know that had happened. I’ve corrected it so you can definitely pin it now.

Thanks! I’m glad I asked. I think I tried to pin one of your posts before but figured it was some kind of privacy setting. Now to go back through your archives to find it.
