Last week, Cami mastered her two wheeler. Chris recently told me that he was afraid he would be gone when Cami finally “got it” with the balance. He has been such a good daddy, spending many times hunched over holding onto that back seat and half walking, half running beside her. I did it a couple times, and let me tell you, it can definitely hurt your back. So right before Chris left, Cami amazed us with her new learned skill! It was such an amazing moment, and Chris was probably more excited than Cami, who was pretty excited herself.

We’ve been practicing more since then, like starting off without me holding onto the back and turning. Its coming, and so fun being the parent and watching. Yesterday, I took the kids riding and Cami did great, kicking off and trying to get balance. I was so excited. Cami informed me that she liked how proud I was of her, but she didn’t like me cheering so loud because it distracts her. Lesson learned, complete silence but lots of thumbs ups and smiles.
These are the days, days that I treasure.

this post made me smile so big! You are so right, that hunched walk/run is a back killer. It’s so *awesome* that she got it when Chris was still home! And I laughed out loud about her requests for you not to cheer so loud. I can totally relate. Both my husband and I have been banned from cheering at soccer games. (we have no self control over this though)
