more about simplicity

In spite of my last post, with all that I’ve been thinking about lately with little Lainey, we really have been enjoying the summer and our time together.

I remind myself so often when I look at my kids, go for a run and move throughout the day how blessed I am. I know there are many people (including our daughter) who don’t have the conveniences, beauty and blessings that we do in our day. This family is full of a lot of love, and I see that in these summer evenings as we all hang out together, laughing, talking and telling or reading stories.

In all of this I can see I am certainly growing in gratitude, thankful that we simplified our summer with not much travel (we had quite the list at the beginning of the year). We have one bigger trip that we are taking this summer. Michigan bound, seeing awesome friends (and Poppy Bob too). We are leaving this weekend, I can’t wait!
