Remember last year, the beautiful trip the kids and I took to Michigan? Well, this year, Chris came, and he was definitely in for a treat!
Just like last time, we stopped halfway at Poppy Bob’s for a little fun hanging out, pizza and ice cream.
Then onto the UP we drove. Once we arrived, we were met with wonderful weather, wonderful friends and the beauty of nature. Here are a few pictures from the trip:
The rock quarry:
The Soo Locks: the kids didn’t enjoy this as much as Chris did, I think he could have spent half a day here being the ship guy he is. At one point Cami came over to me while Chris was reading and said “I just don’t know what to look at anymore.” 
Mackinac Island: Last year Aimee and I tried taking the kids here, but spent half the day in the ER with Noah. This year was much more successful and we enjoyed a fun bike ride around the island.
These are just a few pictures, what a perfect trip! Chris originally told me he thought three days was the longest he wanted to stay (he adheres to the “company is like fish, they start to smell bad after a couple days” rule). But after two days Chris was singing a different tune. This trip was a good reminder to me, that though I struggle sometimes with this military life, there are many friendships (Luke and Aimee) that have been made along the way I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Nice photo’s! They bring back a lot of great memories for me as I spend 6 years in ‘da UP!’
