Camille has been invited to several birthday parties this month. Though I adore celebrating, there is that little thing, the card and wrapping paper. I really love wrapping a gift, but not the cost or even waste behind birthday cards and wrapping paper. We really try to minimize around here (using old paper, tissue paper, brown bags, newsprint, etc) and making cards.
This weekend’s gift was no exception. Cami and I made a cute card perfect for the different parties she’ll be attending this month.
Materials:
• Already painted watercolor paper (approximately 4 X 12 inches)
• Washi Tape (sent to us c/o Washi Wishes)
• A handcarved stamp (you can also find inexpensive birthday stamps at Michael’s)
Starting with the tape, roll it about a half inch from the bottom of the page.

Run it all the way around, overlapping slightly with the beginning of the tape. This should look pretty seamless.
Next take your stamp and stamp above the washi tape.
The card turned out really cute. Camille took off and wrote and drew pictures on the inside. The washi tape added that extra dimension to the paper and I added it to the tissue wrapped gift just to give it a little contrasting color.
May… so many birthdays! Both Chris, my grandpa and my brother-in-law have May birthdays. It seems to be a popular month.

Those cards are so cute! I keep seeing that washi tape around, but didn’t know what to do with it. I think it looks great on the watercolor card like that.

Love the card Erin, and such a cute stamp! Did you carve the stamp?
Also, same as Dawn – I love that tape, but couldn’t really come up with what I would use it for. Love it on the card, and so sweet for wrapping a child’s gift!
Also, I just noticed your page with all the watercolour projects. I love watercolours, and am definitely looking forward to trying out a few of these. Thanks!
