I mentioned at the beginning of the year my goal for simplicity this year. I’ve decided to try posting every week ways that I’m keeping with my word for 2012.
In my previous post I shared that I want to have time work out, relax, play, read and laugh with the kids. That I make time to do the small things so that life doesn’t overwhelm me. That being said, one way that I can get very overwhelmed is by clutter. I’m trying to minimize, even though clutter-free is not easy for me. This week I cleaned out my area. I have an area I allow to pile up with unfiled paperwork, fabric, random craft bits, just thrown and unorganized. Here’s the before pictures.

Oh.my.goodness what a crazy mess. My mess, not something cute like imagination in action. My.mess.
Here are the after photos:

Ah, so clean and organized. There was a huge pile that made its way to the recycle bin as well, and I have to say that it felt really good to do that.
So good, that I could relax, and play a game of uno with the uno master! Just one small little area, that has the house more organized and simplified.

I love the feeling of decluttering and getting organized. Sadly, accumulating takes no time, but clearing out takes tons of time!

ahhh. breathe easier now. I have so many little corners of the house that look like those before pictures. Should keep me busy this summer.
