Easter definitely came quickly this year. I felt so “behind” trying to get ready for that as well of Chris’ Change of Command which came a little quicker than expected (the Navy certainly keeps us on our toes).

My family came into town and it was great to see them and a few other friends of Chris that he keeps in touch with. The weekend was non-stop with fun activity after activity that we had been doing all week.

The kids had a blast as did Chris and I. Easter arrived and our little family of four enjoyed breakfast at Baker’s Crust followed by a beautiful service at Church. Noting how wonderful the weekend had been Camille wisely stated: “We are so rich, because we have each other.” Chris and I looked at each other and smiled. What a wonderful family we have, and we are anxiously awaiting the next addition.

the backyard hunt

One of Chris’ favorite things to do is hide eggs for the kids to find. After all the hunts we did over the past week and a half, I had no need to go buy eggs. I simply dumped out the candy (that will soon find its way to the trash can) and re-stuffed them with littleĀ animalsand erasers.
what's in that egg?

The kids baskets this year were filled with felted eggs holding little trinkets, a globe ball (where we were able to point to where there sister is living right now), and a book and audio cd for each.

The one thing I did make them both was a little felt bunny.

I felt like they turned out a bit wonky, but Chris and the kids thought they were great. They didn’t seem to notice and just love that I made them something. They are definitely some handmade loving peeps.

Speaking of handmade, Camille has all week off of school this week. Its so freeing! In her words “I can’t wait for next week so I can hang out and do crafts with my best mommy!” Aren’t kids the best? So to be sure, I have set up some creative stuff for the two of us to do this week. :-)
