We made to new batches of playdough this weekend following the recipe at Create Kids Crafts that adds koolaid for coloring. We added an extra packet each to really saturate the coloring. What I like about these particular directions is they mix all the dry first before mixing lukewarm water over low heat (vs. adding the dry mixture to boiling water). This really gives Cami a chance to have her hands in there.
New colors and playdough brought along with it fresh inspiration and a lot of fun including lots of animal footprints.
playdough for fun

What Fun!
Homeade playdough with koolaid is the best! Don’t do what I did though and add glitter. Doesn’t work. It just leaves glitter behind.
haha, Chris has a no glitter rule in the house. He doesn’t like the stuff one bit.
Love it! Lots of ideas for when LO gets a little bit older.
what a great idea. my kids are older..but hey…i say you are NEVER too old for play dough. thanks for the inspiration.
i LOVE the photos.
happy play day.

Homemade playdough is the best. I have a bag in the pantry that is made with wheat flour (it’s all we have) and mixed in some almond extract. It’s lovely.
But a boring color, according to The Girl.
We love homemade play dough! It just feels and smells so much better than the store bought kind. We need to make up a new batch, thanks for this!
Those colors are gorgeous! I love the smell of homemade playdough, too.
making playdough is so fun….my kids just love it!!

I am totally going to make my own playdough, as soon as my Elizabeth gets big enough. I had never thought of kool-aid for coloring though.
