a day of reuse

by tinytwistcreative on March 30, 2010

Yesterday was a day of reuse in our house. Once again using our piles of packing paper making these paper mache bowls: To make your own glue go here. The kids loved getting messy with the homemade glue, so glad we did it outside. Everyone took baths before their supposed naps. I’ll show you them when complete, we are using it to fill with daddy’s Easter gift.

I am also working on some pillows this week for our front room. We are repurposing this quilt since the edges are fraying and its not keeping my sweet girl warm. I got this idea from Soule Mama’s book Handmade Home We first started with Camille’s room though, making a heart pillow she adores. The fabric scraps on the pillow are a reused pair of bloomers, an old curtain & some fabric I had bought in the scrap bin a month ago or so. Cami had so much fun stuffing the pillow. It was so sweet last night when she went to sleep. She grabbed her pillow and put it right under her head saying “I love my heart pillow.”

I really want to do paper mache with The Offspring. But it will have to wait for summer. We can put on our suits, go out and get all gluey, and then wash off with the hose.

Love that pillow. So many good ideas are in the pages of that book. Where to begin?

We also promote to reuse
http://www.givingetting.com allow people to give and get stuff they no longer need or to get what they need and don´t have, donating or getting it for reuse, achieving longer product cycle and also keeping useful stuff out of landfills.
The marketplace for donated things. Free stuff to give away or getting for reuse.
The more people we gather and show them the website, more things are going to be given free and gotten free.
Tell every person you know about this opportunity.
